Water Games, Toys and Fun in the backyard!

We live in a very hot climate (southern Arkansas) and like to beat the heat by making our own waterpark.

Going to the local waterpark as much as we'd like to would be just too expensive. We like to set up a variety of water toys in the backyard and spend a hot sunny day keeping cool.

We put up the sprinkler, an inflatable pool and a couple beach umbrellas to set the mood. We also have a Little Tikes slide that works well over the side of the pool to slip down and make a big splash.

Beach towels and juice boxes for cool-down with some nice beach tunes on the cd player really gives a fun atmosphere. Then it is off for a race around the yard with squirt guns and water balloons. We eventually end up getting out the "big guns" (garden hose) and get everyone really soaking wet. Even the dog likes to get in on the fun. Chasing the dog with the hose on a gentle spray is fun for kids and keeps the dog cool too!

This is a great way to keep cool, get exercise and keep the lawn green all at the same time.
