Pop the Balloon

by PETER
(Canada)

A game my parents played a lot with my younger brothers at their birthday parties usually involved balloons. In one such game the object of the game was to pop the balloon attached to the ankles of the other kids before the popped your own.

It is a lot of fun, and can even be enjoy by people well into their teens. Another game we would play would be a game involving static electricity and balloons.

The object was to take regular filled up balloons and in a team or solo, see who could get the most balloons stuck to the wall in a certain amount of time. (This is a GREAT game for parents to help join in on).

I vividly remember other games that were a lot of fun, one such game involved hard boiled eggs and spoons. In this game the party participants would be split up into 2 or 3 teams, each would have 2 spoons and a hard-boiled egg (less mess that way if they dropped it).

The object of the game was to take the egg and walk in a line to a set point so many feet away and walk back, then to pass the egg off to the next person by tipping the egg onto their spoon.

The children are not allowed to use their hands to hold the egg onto the spoon, (we generally used larger spoons for young kids.) -- Hope these inexpensive ideas from my childhood help you out.

Have a Great Day!!
