My 4 Year Old's Superhero Party!

My oldest son adores Superheroes, and sometimes really believes he is one! For his fourth birthday, we had a Superhero party, and it turned out to be a huge success!
Children who were invited to attend were asked to dress as their favorite superhero. There was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in attendance, along with Wonder Woman, Super Man, Spider Man, and Batman, as well as a few others.
For games, we filled a durable plastic pool with water and dyed the water red with some paint and dropped in large chunks of dry ice to make lava. The superheroes had to avoid the pool of lava during an obstacle course. There was a large rope ladder going to a landing on a swinget that was also used for superhero training. The superheros had to test their strength and endurance by climbing to the top as fast as they could. The superhero with the fastest time was given an extra goodie bag with a gift card to the movies for being the strongest of all the superheros.
The birthday cake was a giant volcano that shot out red icing (courtesy of the local bakery, who did a teriffic job). For drinks we had liquid kryptonite (berry blue kool-aid with some yellow food coloring added to it for a bright green drink), and in the kids' goody bags we gave out Rock candy (Superman's crystals in his fortress), gummy tarantulas, and atomic fireballs.Superheroes also made their own slime with borax and glue, and got to turn it whatever color they wanted with a few drops of food coloring.
It was a huge hit with all the kids, and even some of the grown-ups who stuck around to observe!
