Hip Hop for Preschoolers My 4 year old attended a glamorous Easter hunt. The children were asked to dress in bunny outfits and to bring a carrot in an Easter basket.
My daughter sported a frilly, fluffy pastel pink tutu with orchid leotards and white ballet shoes. There was a cottony soft dab of a tail attached to the back of the tutu and donned atop her platinum curly tresses was a set of pink bunny ears.
The party was held in a country club park and there were pink, orchid and powder blue bows with streamers hanging from tree branches. In the middle of this park was a very large rotating decorated basket where the children were asked to deposit the carrots they brought.
While the youngsters were served a lunch consisting of bunny cut out grilled cheese sandwiches on lettuce leaves; pink lemonade; egg shaped veggie pizza; and gelatin in a variety of spring colors, the deposited carrots were hidden in the park.
After lunch, the tots were sent out in escorted groups of 3 into the park to see who would collect the most carrots and win a prize. The children selected their prizes from a plethora of offerings and the grand prize was a ride in an Easter egg float with Mr. Bunny in the Easter Day Parade in New York City;the highlight of the grand prize was an opportunity to perform in a commercial focusing on the merits of eating nature fed eggs.
It was a fantastically sunny afternoon and the children were in a constant state of excitement with each little hip hop they performed.
