Halloween Costume Birthday Party

Just last year I threw a party for my son and his fellow kindergarten friends in school. My husband and I decided to incorporate his birthday party into a costume/Halloween party. The best idea we had!
The kids had a blast, and we saved so much by doing so. First we called all the parents and invited them as well, we also asked for parent volunteers for one of the games I wanted to play.
I had the children paint up their parents, and the parents and kids had to vote on the top three designs. You would be so surprised how great their work had been, little ones have the wildest imaginations, and they came up with some really wild terrific idea's.
I set up stations all over that were filled with popcorn, and cookies, and cupcakes made into all kinds of Halloween decor.
I made cookies in the shape of Pumpkins and let the kids make their own designs of Jack o lanterns and we voted on those too.
The whole idea was just great. The best thing about the whole night was the haunted house we built and had the parents and children enjoy before they left that night.
Really harmless stuff like a corner that had spaghetti noodles and sauce in a huge bowl, and you had to dig into it, and find your prize to move on.
They had to walk up to an old looking witch, take off her hat to claim another prize. The best one was the pirates treasure chest, it opened and closed, and he would grab at you, but if you wanted to claim your good bye prize, I bought ABC Rap Cd's for all the kids, you had to reach into the chest to get your CD.
It was a really great party, both kids and adults enjoyed themselves, and I look forward to throwing another one sometime!
