Easter Fun at the park - 2008

Last year (2008) the town we live in had a wonderful Easter Festival.
It included Easter Egg hunts for children of all ages, and each age group had its own Easter Egg hunt (children less than three didn't have to fight with older kids for Easter eggs).
There was also a fantastic kids' band, as well as other activities such as a three-legged race and a potato sack race.
Children from all parts of town were able to get together in a structured, fun environment to enjoy the outdoors, listen to music, and find Easter Eggs.
The festival also included face painting, and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Children were encouraged to dress as their favorite Easter characters, including chicks, bunnies, and ducks. They were also given arts and crafts projects to complete while we were there.
There was also food and beverages available for everybody for a small fee. Overall, it was a fantastic party for everybody to enjoy the sunshine and the wonderful sense of community which came with the party.
All kids, regardless of whether they found any eggs or not, were able to take home a goody bag full of wonderful Easter treats including candy, pencils, temporary tattoos, and a lot of other fun stuff.
There was also storytime at the park to celebrate Easter where the kids listened to "The Velveteen Rabbit", and then were sent on a rabbit chase afterwards to see if they could catch the Easter Bunny.
It was a wonderful afternoon, and we are looking forward to this year's festival again! Children of all ages were able to enjoy all different activities, and parents were able to socialize with other parents in the area. It was a wonderful way to bring together members of the community who may not otherwise meet and mingle. The Easter party was a wonderful success, and it is a tradition we will carry on with our town for as long as we live here.
