Dinosaur Cake
My son is completely in love with dinosaurs, anything dinosaurs. So he asked me for a dinosaur birthday party.
I went online and found every possible dinosaur related printable coloring page that was available and created a coloring book for each child.
While I did this, I also located printable dinosaur related name cards for each child. The coloring books were our parting gifts for each child they came to the party along with a box of crayons.
Dinosaur Birthday Cake
I made my son a cake that was of a green dinosaur using a circle cake pan. By cutting the cake in half and standing it on half sides back to back (see picture) I was able to make a dinosaur hump as the dinosaur was laying down. I iced it with green and gave scales.
Dinosaur Party Games
I purchased tiny dinosaurs and bags of white balloons for the dinosaur egg cracking game. Very carefully place a dinosaur into each white balloon, blow it up and tie the end. Have the dinosaur eggs ready for the party.
Divide the number of children into two teams. One at a time a child from each team goes to get a balloon and has to pop it in order to help the baby dinosaur Hatch. The team that pops up the most balloons before the balloons run out wins the game. Of course the children are allowed to keep the dinosaurs they helped to hatch.
We got a jumper for kids to jump around in during the party.
Aside from the dinosaur hatching game, the cake and the opening of presents; the kids did not want to come out of the jumper for very long.
