At the end of May, I took my two-year-old nephew for a Day Out with Thomas The Tank Engine at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. It was a fun-filled day for young and old. There were all kinds of activity tents set up, so we were never at a lack for things to do.
We started with the Story Time tent. That consisted of a DVD featuring Thomas the Tank and his friends. It was kind of cute. At least it held the attention of my nephew for 20 minutes or so. We then ventured over to the food tent. There was everything from chips, pretzels, and pop, to hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. So, we ate are lunch and then got ready for our train ride.
We boarded the train, giving our tickets to the conductor. The train ride was really neat. We saw a plethora of birds and squirrels. We even got to see a deer running in the field as we rode along. It last about 25 minutes. My nephew really liked it.
After the train ride, we went to the petting zoo. My nephew was too afraid to pet any animals, so we went to the souvenir tent. There we bought an overly-priced snack bowl with Thomas the Tank's picture on it.
We then headed over to the tattoo tent, where my nephew got to choose a Thomas tattoo. He was super-excited. We also got to see some toy trains and some trains made out of Legos.
At this point we were ready to go home. We had two hours of Thomas activities, and we were a little tire. But, our Day Out with Thomas Tank Engine proved to be a really enjoyable event.
