Since all math and phonics concepts are built on some basic elements, it is easier to put these elements into a game format. This makes learning fun for kids and rewarding for us to watch them grasp the ideas and concepts and begin to apply them to everyday life.

Not only are they counting but they also continue to reinforce the skills of remembering colors and shapes as well as sorting while playing such games. If you are interested in moving into addition and subtraction, there are games you can consider such as the “Sum Time Game.” In this particular game, there are 15 counting cards and lots of number/symbol tiles which must be put together correctly to solve the puzzle. Building on the pre-reading skills and just in time for Kindergarten is the “Quizmo” Game.” It is a perfect fit in the family board games category It is a board game to give children good practice in learning consonants and consonant blends as well as vowel recognition.
