Here are some birthday games for kids for a fun filled Safari party which the kids are bound to enjoy.

You can begin the decorations right at the front gate of your house with a sign board made of cardboard reading -

Decorate the board with 1-2 long vines.

Here are a few ideas to give your party area a jungle look out.

Make paw prints by cutting paw shape from construction paper and tape them in and around the entrance and pathway.

Have long vines hanging down from the roof by twisting 2 or 3 green paper steamers, and sticking some leaves to it. You can make leaves by cutting them out from a green Construction paper.

Make tree cut-outs from green and brown construction paper and tape them onto walls or simply get jungle wall mural, which should do a good job of turning the room into a real jungle.

• Pull the Monkey's tail

This was one of my favourite game as a child. Make long paper tails(slightly short of the length of kids legs) for the kids and pin these tails on their dresses.

Ask the kids to tie their hands at their backs, They are not supposed to free their hands while playing.

The kids have to try and pull off the tail of one another without freeing their hands and at the same time trying to save their own tail from other kids.

The one to retain his or her tail at the end of the game wins

• Pin the tail on the lion

Play this version of the pin the donkey game for the animal safari party.

Draw a huge picture of lion without tail and let the kids have a go at trying to pin the tail on the lion, blindfolded Or you can even play Pin the banana in the Monkey's mouth

• Hop your favourite Animal

Begin this game as an activity of asking kids to draw animal faces - of any animal they prefer, with markers on the balloon.Once the kids are finished with drawing animal faces on the balloons they can have a go at hopping the balloon. Let the kids sit on their balloon and hop on it trying to pop the balloon.

• Feed the Monkey

This is a cool party game idea for jungle party theme.

Use a medium sized cardboard box. Stick a drawing of Monkey's face to the box. Make a small hole - size of the hole should be such that it allows the kids hand to pass through it, in place of the mouth of the monkey on the drawing and the box behind it.

Have a session of feeding the Monkey, where you can give some peanuts to the kids and they can have a turn at feeding the monkey some peanuts.

• Lion Says...

Lion says is just one of the birthday games for kids for a Jungle party theme.In this version of Simon Says one adult can be the Lion and the kids have to follow instructions given by the adult only if he or she begins the sentence by saying the words Lion says...and not otherwise.

• Make your Animal Masks

Let the kid make faces of their favourite animals on paper plates with markers and adult can help them with cutting out the eyes, nose and mouth in their mask.Cut two small holes to pass an elastic so the kids can wear the mask.

• Color your favourite Wild Animal

This is one of the best theme to get some great free coloring pages printouts from internet.

Get print outs of different animals, hand them the crayons and let the kids have a go at colouring their favourite animals.
